They have seized upon the government by bribery and corruption. They have made speculation and public robbery a science
Chancellor House has been widely reported to hold a 25% stake in Hitachi Power, which has won contracts to build boilers for the country's two new power stations - Medupi and Kusile.

One published estimate has suggested the contract could be worth more than R5-billion to the ANC.

"A conflict of interest in a sense that the ruling party benefited from this thing? Yes, certainly it is not desirable," Hogan said.

She recalled that Mathews Phosa, treasurer-general of the ANC, had said two years ago that he would disengage from the contract and dismantle Chancellor House.
