Residents demand houses
2010-03-08 09:32

Pretoria - A group of Soshanguve residents were protesting on Monday against government's slow delivery of houses, Pretoria police said.

"Although no property has been damaged in the protest, the residents started burning tyres and chanting at Soshanguve Extension 10," Constable William Mahlaola said.

Police were quick to respond and cleared the burning tyres and stones on the roads.

The roads had since been opened to traffic.

At around 08:00 residents were still singing and dancing while demanding RDP housing.
