2 boys die after ritual

TWO boys died in botched circumcisions in Ngqeleni yesterday while two others were admitted to a local hospital, the Eastern Cape health department said.
The condition of the pair in hospital was unknown.
Since last week there have been eight circumcision-related deaths, with one a suicide .
Spokesperson Sizwe Kupelo said health officials had been sent to two areas in the province where reports of botched circumcisions had surfaced.
“One report is of 16 boys losing their genitals in Mthatha and the other is of 100 boys being kept by traditional surgeons in Willowvale.” – Sapa
